Director Statement

Do you ever wonder why your dog is barking at an empty chair, or won’t go into certain parts of the house? “Good Boy” started with a simple high concept: a haunted house film, where the main character is the family dog, and also the only one who can see the ghosts.

Dog-movies can connect with audiences at a visceral level. Our relationship to man’s best friend is one that we aim to tap into to create an instant bond between our canine hero and the audience. And in the realm of Horror, a dog’s innate curiosity is the perfect way to ratchet up tension. Dogs are naturally protective – they’re our first line of defense against intruders and unseen dangers. So too, we use this unique perspective to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

As a lifelong horror fan and lover of dogs, "Good Boy" is the culmination of two great passions. And the film's star, Indy, is my actual dog! We're thrilled to be making this movie together and can’t wait to share it with you.
